I am an award winning natural history cinematographer with a particular interest in macro stories.
I thoroughly enjoy the storytelling, character building and problem solving that comes hand in hand with macro sequences and relish the many different challenges that both shooting on location and set work present. I have a very keen eye for detail, a healthy dose of patience and take great pride and care in crafting sequences and lighting them beautifully. The chance to collaborate closely with both editorial and scientific experts, plus the frequent opportunities to shoot something entirely new, are further reasons that I find macro such a fascinating and exciting specialisation.
I am comfortable working with a wide range of camera formats, lighting and specialist equipment. I enjoy the challenge of new technology and am excited by its potential to help construct fresh sequences and push the genre in new and thought provoking directions.
I am passionate about the natural world and, in particular, its smallest inhabitants. By creating powerful images I hope to tell memorable stories, impart knowledge and inspire people to respect and protect our unique planet.
